  15.      _e_g_c_o_n_f_i_g is executed at system startup time to download the firmware for
  16.      each gigabit Ethernet (''egN'') interface configured into the system.
  17.      After _e_g_c_o_n_f_i_g executes, it is still necessary to use _i_f_c_o_n_f_i_g(1M) to
  18.      configure protocol addresses and other parameters.

  20.      _e_g_c_o_n_f_i_g is run automatically at system startup.  It is also used to turn
  21.      flow control and link negotiation on and off.

  24.      -f [n]
  25.           Sets flow-control's state on the specified interface.  Valid options
  26.           are 0 (off) or 1 (on).  If no value is specified, 0 (off) is
  27.           implied.  This should only be used when attaching to equipment that
  28.           does not support flow-control.  The default state for flow-control
  29.           is on.  This flag can only be used when the card is marked down with
  30.           _i_f_c_o_n_f_i_g(1M) or in /etc/config/eg_N.options to set flow-control at
  31.           boot time.

  33.      -l [n]
  34.           Sets link-negotiation's state on the specified interface.  Valid
  35.           options are 0 (off) or 1 (on).  If no value is specified, 0 (off) is
  36.           implied.  This should only be used when attaching to equipment that
  37.           does not negotiate correctly. The default state for link-negotiation
  38.           is on.  For LINK_PREF values 0, 1, 2, and 3 (see _e_g_c_m_d(1M)) link-
  39.           negotiation will be on no matter what.  This flag can only be used
  40.           when the card is marked down with _i_f_c_o_n_f_i_g(1M) or in
  41.           /etc/config/eg_N.options to set link-negotiation at boot time.

  43.      -q   Queries the current state of flow-control and link-negotiation.  The
  44.           state returned is only valid for LINK_PREF (see _e_g_c_m_d(1M)) values
  45.           where changing these values is valid.
